Blur announce intimate gigs to fan club

Blur have announced two intimate warm-up shows to their fan club.

The band, who will play their first shows with guitarist Graham Coxon in nearly a decade this summer, are staging a series of tiny gigs in early June ahead of shows at Manchester MEN Arena (June 26), London Hyde Park (July 2, 3) and headline festival appearances including Glastonbury, T In The Park and Oxegen.

Blur will kick their preparations off with a 'homecoming' by returning to the site of the first ever gig they played, back in 1988. They will play Colchester's East Anglian Railway Museum on June 13. All proceeds from the gig will go to the museum's charity and the Aldham Village Hall Restoration Project.

The band will then return to their old university, London's Goldsmiths College, where bandmembers Alex James and Graham Coxon were both students, on June 22. Proceeds from this show will go to The Teenage Cancer Trust. Tickets are available to registered users at the band's official website Blur.co.uk. More warm-up shows will be announced soon.
