There was a hint of pop royalty in the air in Las Vegas on Saturday (February 1) as Lady Gaga attended Britney Spears' Las Vegas show.

The two singers had recently been hinting on Twitter that something was afoot between the pair.

Whilst some suspected that the online chatter may have meant a collaboration, it seems their banter was just referring to Gaga meeting up with Spears in Vegas to check out her Piece of Me residency.

The 'Applause' star joined the pop princess backstage at the Planet Hollywood venue and took her seat during the show.

She tweeted after the gig: "We had so much fun at your show! And Britney's dad gave us homemade BBQ, it was one of the best things I've ever eatin' in my LIFE."

Whilst Spears carries on with her lucrative two-year residency, Gaga is due to take her ARTPOP Ball tour around the globe this year from May onwards.
