Britney Spears has teased fans by posting a picture of herself in a recording studio.

The singer's last album came in the shape of 2013's 'Britney Jean' and it seems she could be working on its follow-up.

The US star took to Twitter to post her photo along with the text:

"Studio today! Yay!"

Spears is seen standing in front of a sheet of lyrics as she smiles for the camera.

The singer meanwhile confirmed last week that she has split from her long-term boyfriend David Lucado.

She suggested on stage at a gig in Las Vegas that he cheated on her.
