Britney Spears is now No.1 on MTV's long-running Stars of 2015 poll.

The UK music company is asking fans to tweet who they think have been the top act of the year.

US singer Spears is now No.1 on the list with nearly 80m votes.

At the time of writing, Lana Del Rey is No.2 with only around 20,000 more tweets.

Long-time leader Lady Gaga drops to No.3, while One Direction are No.4.

The top five is completed by Nicki Minaj, with 5 Seconds of Summer following at No.6.

Voting closes on December 15 and the winner will be revealed four days later.
