Britney's 'Femme Fatale' certified Platinum

The brand new and seventh album from Britney Spears, 'Femme Fatale', has been certified Platinum in the U.S by the RIAA today, April 29.

This is just another benchmark in her incredible career and she has already enjoyed, and set, a whole host of other records with her new album. A press release on the 'Hold It Against Me' star's website recounts her most recent achievements:

"She is the only woman to have six albums debut at No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart; she and Mariah Carey are the only artists to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with more than one song; Britney’s one of only seven artists- and just three women- with Hot 100 No. 1’s in three decades; Femme Fatale is one of the Top 10 longest running trending topics on Twitter."

This fantastic news comes as Spears releases the tickets for her North American headlining tour, the support for which will come from collaborator Nicki Minaj, which is due to begin on June 16 in California.
