In an article posted this evening (May 9), E! explained that the 'Hold It Against Me' superstar "will get $15 million for one season's worth of work" and has finally signed an official contract after months of speculation.

Although no statements have been issued as of yet by either Cowell or Spears themselves, the news has been reported by MSNBC and several other reputable sources.

Back in March, Cowell was asked about the rumours that suggested the well-loved songstress was going to join the panel and coyly hinted: "you'll have to wait and see."
