Pop princess Britney Spears has opened up about how she's finding her new role as a judge on X Factor USA and admitted that being a singer helps her to relate to the contestants.

Spears, who joined the panel along with former Disney starlet Demi Lovato, told MTV News that some of the auditions she has witnessed so far have been downright ridiculous, but there have been some talented performers:

"I feel like we've had a little bit of, bizarre performances, overall. There have been some good ones but, for the most part, there's been some ones that were, pretty bad!"

"It is the best feeling when someone just comes on stage and makes us want to stand up, there's energy, it's great."

"I think it helps a lot, it helps us to relate to them a little bit more and understand where they're coming from because we've actually been in their shoes."
