Pop superstar Britney Spears has exchanged tweets with the Mars rover, named Curiosity, after tweeting it an amusing message several days ago.

On August 15, the songstress asked it "So @MarsCuriosity... does Mars look the same as it did in 2000," and accompanied the public tweet with a link to her video for 'Oops!... I Did It Again', which was set on the famous red planet.

A few hours later, the Curiosity rover (pictured below on the surface of Mars) responded and made an entertaining reference to the narrative of her music video:

"@britneyspears Hey Brit Brit. Mars is still looking good. Maybe someday an astronaut will bring me a gift, too. Drill bits crossed ;)"

In the early hours of this morning (August 17), Spears returned to Twitter and told her followers that she was watching Disney's 'The Lion King': "How can you not cry when Mufasa dies?!"
