Britney Spears has announced the name of her next album.

The US singer is due to release her eighth studio record on December 3 and today (October 15) she confirmed its title.

The 'Work Bitch' star told Capital FM that the album will be called 'Britney Jean', referring to her middle name.

Spears said: "It's a personal album and all my family, they always call me Britney Jean. It's like a term of endearment, and I just wanted to share that with my fans."

The singer also refused to deny that the album will feature a collaboration with 'SMS (Bangerz)' buddy Miley Cyrus.

'Britney Jean' - which features lead single 'Work Bitch' - will follow up Spears' previous album, which came in the shape of 2011's Femme Fatale.
