Britney Spears to take break from recording after new album

Britney Spears has vowed to take a prolonged breather from recording after the release of her new album.

The singer is due to unleash her eighth studio effort 'Britney Jean' on December 3 but she told BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw this morning (October 16) that there are no plans to follow it up anytime soon.

When asked if she ever thought she would make it to album number eight, the pop princess said:

"Never in my wildest dreams! I'll take a break after this one for a while."

The only track Spears has issued so far from 'Britney Jean' is lead single 'Work Bitch', which is due to land in the UK on November 3.

Spears meanwhile recently signed a two-year residency deal with Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, with the 'Femme Fatale' star expected to perform about 50 shows a year.

The prolonged stint is due to kick off on December 27.
