Bruno Mars' final Super Bowl preparations: "I got three gallons of hairspray"

Bruno Mars is readying himself for the biggest live performance of his career so far as the Super Bowl approaches.

The ‘Treasure’ hitmaker was announced as the Super Bowl half-time act back in September 2013. It was later revealed in January that the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be making a guest appearance during the course of Mars’ act.

Speaking at a press conference held at New York’s Lincoln Center Rose Theatre earlier this week Bruno Mars – real name Peter Hernandez – spoke about his final preparations ahead of the Super Bowl.

During rehearsals Bruno and his band have had to work through adverse weather conditions but the Hawaiian singer joked that he plans to keep his hair in perfect condition as he joked:

“I got three gallons of hairspray in this thing, so I’m good!”

Although Bruno avoided saying whether he hopes the Seattle Seahawks or Denver Broncos will win the Super Bowl, he did name his favourite half-time performers as being Prince, Michael Jackson and Bruce Springsteen.

UK viewers can watch the NFL Super Bowl XLVIII tonight (February 2) on Channel 4 at 11.30pm.
