Bruno Mars reveals his brother gave up police job to tour in his band

'Locked Out Of Heaven' hitmaker Bruno Mars has admitted that his older brother, Eric Hernandez, sacrificed a police career to play drums with him on tour.

The superstar covers the forthcoming edition of Rolling Stone magazine, which hits newsstands on April 26, and Hernandez explained that he had to decide between supporting his brother's music career or working as a police officer:

"I was like, 'If I don't give this up and I'm watching some other guy play drums for my brother, that's going to eat me up."

"I wish I had his swag. I'm actually taking tips from that little guy."

In the interview, Mars also confessed that his latest single 'When I Was Your Man' was written about his girlfriend, model Jessica Caban (shown below), when he was concerned they might break up and joked that it's tough to perform live now that they're back on track:

"You're bringing up all these old emotions again. It's just like bleeding!"
