Calvin Harris in pole position to land UK No.1 album

Calvin Harris is in pole position to land another UK No.1 album this weekend.

The Scottish DJ and producer released his latest effort 'Motion' earlier this week and the Official Charts Company have confirmed that today (November 5) it is No.1 in the UK.

However, it is only around 1,000 copies ahead of its nearest rival - Ed Sheeran's second album 'x'.

At No.3 on the midweek update meanwhile is Taylor Swift's previous chart-topper '1989', with Andre Rieu's 'Love in Venice' following at No.4.

At No.5 is Damien Rice's new entry 'My Favourite Faded Memory'.

Other new entries include Simple Minds' 'Big Music' (No.9) and The Who's retrospective collection 'The Who Hits 50!'.
