'Leona Lewis's version of 'We Found Love' was a ballad' reveals Calvin Harris

Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris has opened up about 'We Found Love', which he wrote and Rihanna turned into a hit single, and explained that Leona Lewis recorded it originally with a very different arrangement.

When asked by Kiss FM which version of the song he personally prefers, Harris admitted that they are nothing alike so it's difficult to say which is better:

"Erm, they're very different because [Leona] sings it dead softly, you know, how Leona sings. It's more like an X Factor ballad. The only people that have got it [Leona's rendition] are me and Leona Lewis."

Lewis recently spoke out about this, too, and told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "I worked with Calvin and we recorded We Found Love. But he went touring with Rihanna and she ended up releasing it."

“I didn’t commit to it because I wanted Trouble to be my first single so I think that was another reason they went with Rihanna. It was the same version and production but mine’s better."
