Calvin Harris thanks Liam Payne for saving him from flying person at Miley Cyrus birthday

Calvin Harris has revealed that One Direction star Liam Payne saved him from being hit by an airborne small person at Miley Cyrus's birthday bash.

The US star celebrated her 21st birthday on Sunday (November 24) and a host of famous faces attended, including One Direction and Scottish DJ Harris.

The event was seemingly an odd one, with small people paying tribute to Cyrus's 2013 VMA performance with a rendition of the singer's twerking.

Harris later took to his Twitter to thank Payne for stopping him from being knocked out by a flying person, tweeting:

"Big thank you to @Real_Liam_Payne for saving me from getting KO'd by a flying "person of unusually short stature" tonight."

Strippers also performed at the birthday shindig, which celebrated Cyrus's pass the US legal drinking age milestone.

Other guests at the event meanwhile included Kelly Osbourne and Wiz Khalifa.

Cyrus herself later tweeted that she had the "best birthday night ever".
