Songstress Celine Dion has opened up about the loss of her husband Rene Angelil, who died in January at the age of 73 after a long battle with throat cancer.

Speaking to ABC News about his death, she explained that "you're never ready for something like this to happen."

Two days after her husband passed away, Dion's brother Daniel lost his life as a result of a similar cancer battle and she revealed that she believes Rene came down to collect Daniel from earth because he was "too weak to fly on his own."

Dion, meanwhile, has been lined up to perform Queen's iconic track 'The Show Must Go On' at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 22 and she will also receive the ICON Award at the ceremony.
