Charlotte Church believes she has no other option than to keep working into her old age.

The 28-year-old singer was reputed to be worth £25m ($42.8m) aged just 17, but she suggested in an interview with BBC One Wales that the money has dried up.

She said: "I will have to work for the rest of my life. Not because I want to but because I have to. 

"I always understood that all that stuff isn't important and my career was not the be and end all."

Referring to her seeming fall from her once lucrative mainstream status, Church joked:

"The tax man is looking at my accounts wondering where I'm hiding all my money."

The Welsh star initially found fame as a young opera singer, but in recent years she has developed a more experimental sound.
