Charlotte Church, who ended things earlier this year with rugby star and father of her two children, Gavin Henson, has revealed that the split was bound to happen.

In an interview with Graham Norton, the singer confessed: “Something had been happening for a long time. We wanted to make it work but decided the break-up was inevitable and we did it when the kids are young. We've both been pretty grown up about it and are doing what's best for our beautiful babies."

The 24-year-old, who is currently in a relationship with musician Jonathan Powell, also said that she won’t be making the same mistakes this time around.

“I've learned lessons and I am going into the relationship differently. I am doing everything differently," she admitted.

The singer's new album ‘Back to Scratch’ is released tomorrow (October 25).
