Charlotte Church has claimed that there is "way too much" focus on what celebrities weigh.

The Welsh star made headlines last week after unveiling a new slim figure on the British TV chat show 'Friday Night With Jonathan Ross'. Speaking at the time, she admitted: "I don't think I've ever been this thin." 

However, in a new interview with BBC Newsbeat, Church revealed that she would prefer to get attention for other reasons. She commented: "I'm obviously really flattered and I have lost weight etc, but I think that everybody focuses on it way too much and it bothers me a little bit. Especially as I do have two young children that have to grow up in this world as well and everything is so based on how you look and how thin or fat you are at any particular stage. I feel I have so much more to offer than just my weight." 

Church is set to make a TV comeback as a judge on the BBC talent search 'Over The Rainbow', which launches next week.
