The Girls Aloud singer is well known for her good looks, but she told French website Get The Look that it isn't always just about how you look on the outside.

The 'Call My Name' star said that sometimes no amount of makeup can beat some inner gorgeousness. She said:

"You can wear all the make-up you want, but beauty comes from within. A lot of people say it's a cliché, but it's so true."

Cole continued: "If you feel beautiful inside, you can tell. So you need to feel comfortable within yourself, which is definitely not always easy - but you should try!"

Despite the inner beauty talk, the singer is long associated with makeup company L'Oreal and she was recently in Cannes to promote the brand.

The 'Promise This' songstress took to her official Twitter page and wrote: "Dear @kimkardashian. Hi Gorgeous lady! Just wanted to send you a tweet to say I think you are an incredibly beautiful woman inside and out."

"I can only imagine how tough it is to be heavily pregnant and feeling extremely vulnerable on top of some of the daily criticism you take! I admire your tenacity and send you my best wishes with the rest of your pregnancy #enjoyyourblessing x"

Upon seeing the message, Kardashian (who is expecting her first baby with rapper Kanye West) replied and thanked her for the 'touching' words:

"@CherylCole your message really touched me! Thank you so much for the support & positivity! Its so important for women to feel confident & at peace during this amazing time! Your sweet tweet really made me smile! Xoxo"

Writing on the social networking site in the early hours of this morning (May 16), the 'Promise This' beauty encouraged her fans not to let stress get the better of them and to believe in themselves because all they can do is their best:

"So many of u [sic] stressing over your exams which is completely understandable but let me give you a little advice... No amount of worrying or losing sleep will change the outcome that I promise. All you can do is your best. If you're unsure ask someone who knows for help and make yourself sure."

She then joked that signing out of their networking sites might also be useful in helping them to concentrate fully: "Also, Reduce your use of twitter until it's done !!!! Lol! It works.. No distractions #goodluck."

While online, Cole also took the time to send a personal yet public message to Kim Kardashian (shown below), who has been the victim of many unflattering news articles and accompanying paparazzi photos during her pregnancy: "Dear @kimkardashian. Hi Gorgeous lady! Just wanted to send you a tweet to say I think you are an incredibly beautiful woman inside and out."

During a recent interview with MSN UK, Cole explained that she idolises the 'Halo' superstar but coming face-to-face with her was less than the dream she had imagined:

"I love how Beyoncé is empowering as a woman. She's positive and she’s about sisterhood and that’s quite rare these days I think. I always looked up to her, in Destiny's Child she was my favourite."

"I haven't seen her since, but that's OK  - that one time was enough for me. I totally embarrassed myself - I'm sure she doesn't want to see me again."

Writing on her official Twitter page on April 21, the 'Call My Name' beauty explained to her 3.7 million followers that he is boyband material and shared a photograph of him (pictured above left):

"Anyone else think @gtweedy24 looks like he could be a member of 1D in this picture lol?! #handsome."

She was inundated with replies from her online following and one fan joked "oh my god hahahahahaha Zayn 2.0!" while another wrote, "hahahahaha! he has to be the cutest ever he's so cute and small :') lmao!!!"

During a new interview with MSN UK, the 'Promise This' beauty confessed that it was a tough decision because it meant letting the public in on all of her private endeavours, but she wanted to do it to show her true self:

"It was a tough decision. It was a battle with myself, with how I normally because I am a very private person. But I was sick of reading lies, sick of reading misquotes. Enough was enough and it was time for me to put out my side of the story, and the truth. And if I was going to do it I was going to do it honestly and frankly and truthfully, and not beat around the bush. So once I made the decision I knew it was going to be frank and open."

Cole also credited Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.Am with giving her the confidence to go solo, adding: "He saw something in me before I saw it. He's a very, very wise character. He's been in the industry a long time. He's seen people come and go. I've learnt a lot from him."

Talking about being a singer and pop star, Cole admitted that she simply couldn't ever see herself doing anything else: "I couldn't see a future of doing anything other than performing. I didn't like school if I'm being honest. I would have settled for performing in any capacity. My dad was always saying 'Get your head out of the clouds'. But when I was eight or nine I said to him 'We'll be watching Top of The Pops and I'll be on there'"

During an interview this morning (April 19) with ITV's 'Daybreak', the 'Call My Name' beauty confessed that the prospect of having no plans is liberating and she finally has some freedom, which she's really looking forward to:

"It's exciting that I actually don't have any plans for once. I got a little way in with the third album and then decided to put it to one side so I could focus on the Girls Aloud tour, and that's just come to an end, so I actually don't know!"

Speaking about her current album, 'A Million Lights', Cole added that there was a third single release in the pipeline although she feels as though the time has passed to pursue that: "I had a third single planned but it kind of feels like that's like then, and I'm ready to move on."

"Music is my life, my first love, so that will always be part of what I'm doing. But I don't have any plans right now."

Cole also opened up about turning 30 in June and admitted she feels the best she ever has: "I'm turning 30 in June, I was like I've had an incredible decade in this industry, with the highs and the lows; thirty is a very empowering age for me. I feel the best I've ever felt."

The singer's clothing and style is often under scrutiny due to her position in the limelight, but it seems she gets her fashion choices pretty spot on.

Speaking to ITV's Daybreak, however, Cole said that whilst she appreciates that people like her style, at the end of the day, she just likes clothes. The singer said:

"It's crazy because I really don't think of myself as a style icon. I love the fact that people are inspired and look at me for inspiration."

The Geordie added: "But I just like clothes! I'm just like any other girl out there, I just love clothes and shoes and handbags and dressing up and experimenting. It's just part of what I love to do - and its also part of my job."

As previously reported, Cole said in the same interview that she feels better than ever as she approaches turning 30.

The singer will reach the age on June 30 as she enters the next stage in her life.

Speaking to ITV's Daybreak, the 'Call My Name' star actually said that becoming a 30-year-old is "empowering" rather than depressing. She said:

"I'm turning 30 in June, I was like I've had an incredible decade in this industry, with the highs and the lows; thirty is a very empowering age for me. I feel the best I've ever felt."

The Geordie meanwhile reflected on Girls Aloud's recent breakup following their 10th anniversary reunion tour. Cole said:

"I cherish the last tour because it was special, it was the end of an era. Only the five of us know how it felt to be in that group. Let's go out on a high and be remembered for the incredible pop music we made together."

The beautiful singer has teamed up once again with hair company L'Oreal for a brand new shoot alongside photographer Rankin.

The singer can be seen in a bathtub looking regal yet raunchy at the same time.

The release of the shoot's images meanwhile comes soon after Girls Aloud announced via Twitter that they were breaking up for good.

The pop group confirmed after their final 10th anniversary tour date in Liverpool that they were finished.

Record label Polydor meanwhile reiterated yesterday (March 27) that they had no part to play in the band's demise.

The 'Promise This' beauties will perform their final concert tonight (March 20) in Liverpool and Cole took to her official Twitter page earlier this afternoon to thank Girls Aloud's fans for such amazing support over the years:

"Last show!!! When did that happen??! It was just 5 minutes ago we were starting rehearsals! Feel like I've been in a time machine. And now we're here!! One of my favourite places ever for the last show!! Liverpool!!! LETS GOOOOO..."

"To the people that haven't been able to make it, for what ever reason, we feel your support regardless and have done for 10 yrs.. To the people that have been to almost as many shows as we have lol let's make this a celebration of the past 10 years."

Following her emotional messages, Cole's fans have been asking if this evening's show will mark the definitive end of Girls Aloud with one writing: "@CherylCole your scaring us! Is this the end of girls aloud?"

During an impromptu Twitter question and answer session this afternoon (March 18), one of Cole's fans asked how life on the road has been, to which she replied: "We are definitely gonna have a case of tour blues!! its gone far too quickly!!"

She also answered a couple of music related questions and told her 3.6 million followers that the song she's enjoying most at the moment is "'White Noise' by Disclosure" because "it reminds me of the tour" and that 'Bad Romance' is her favourite Lady Gaga track.

Tomorrow (March 19), Girls Aloud will perform at the Capital FM arena in Nottingham and will wrap up their reunion tour on March 20 with a show in Liverpool at the Echo Arena.

The 'Promise This' beauty has experienced malaria first hand after contracting it several years ago, so it's an issue very close to her heart, and writing on Twitter over the weekend she expressed her gratitude to her fans for getting behind the cause:

"Wow!' What have I just come across.. I can not believe that some of you have been starting a campaign to help fight malaria and in such a short period of time have raised a considerable amount.. My heart is melting knowing that I have such amazing, considerate and caring people on here. You make me so proud."

Cole added: "I have found, and still find it incredibly hard to talk about publicly as my experience is still very fresh and raw in my mind. But to feel a response like that from Paul's story is amazing. Thank you. You're all such angels."

The star has recently been battling rumours that she could be about to have her first child with boyfriend Tre Holloway.

Some eager minds put two and two together when she recently tweeted that she was feeling ill, with the singer later posting on the social networking website to Coleen Rooney:

"Nice to see you too, you look amazing pregnant RT "@ColeenRoo: Great night at Girls Aloud Concert!!! So nice to see lovely@CherylCole xxx."

This somehow led some fans to suggest once more that she is expecting a baby - something which she denied: "You lot! lmao. I should have known not to say the word on here !! No peeps I'm not "pregnant" lol!! #cuesdodgyphotosandheadlines#prediction."

Cole's PA meanwhile Lily England also responded to the claims, tweeting a recent photo of the Girls Aloud star - which can be seen below - along with the text:

"Pregnancy rumours?? Erm I'm struggling to believe that looking at this stomach!! No morning sickness…"

The stunning star's name was embroiled in a story in British newspaper The Sun today.

Cole has hit back at the claims involving her ex-husband Ashley Cole, after Playboy bunny Melissa Howe revealed she bedded the football star as he was reportedly on the verge of reuniting with the brunette beauty.

Cole has slammed the newspaper kiss-and-tell, writing on Twitter today: "I've been divorced for years. Stop involving me in stories on my ex-husband. It's lazy and boring..Please get over it FFS (sic)."

Cole is currently on tour with Girls Aloud members  Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Sarah Harding.

The band - who reunited to celebrate 10 years in the music industry - are thrilled with the response to their long-awaited 'Ten' tour.

Cole took to Twitter this afternoon to thank fans for their continued support, gushing: "O2 3rd night 10years on!! #dreamsthatglitter. See you all soon. To all the people travelling from other countries to come and see the show, thank you very much #truefans (sic)."
