Cheryl Cole has revealed that her next album is nearly finished being recorded.

The singer's last record came in the shape of 2012's 'A Million Lights' and she has been pictured in the studio over the last number of months.

She was recently confirmed to return to this year's X Factor series as a judge and some guessed that it may delay her album.

However, Cole told reporters at an X Factor press conference on Tuesday (March 11) that the album is nearly finished.

Referring to how she has been spending her time, the singer said: "I just took this time and partied and have just been me and normal for the past six months. Then I started recording the new album and that's almost done. There's no delay on the album. I've got things in the pipeline."

Cole meanwhile will be joined by fellow X Factor alumni Simon Cowell on the new series.
