Simon Cowell has revealed that he will consult Cheryl Cole over who else should become an X Factor judge.

The Girls Aloud singer recently confirmed her return to the UK show after originally appearing on it between 2008 and 2010.

Cowell will also return to the fold and in an interview with ITV's Daybreak, he confirmed that Cole will have a say in choosing the next X Factor judge.

After proclaiming reports of Rita Ora turning down the job as "complete rubbish", Cowell said:

"We've spoken to people but we did agree when Cheryl agreed to come back on the show that we would agree together. Because I'm not going to put someone next to her that she hates."

The next X Factor series meanwhile is due to start filming later this year.
