Cheryl Cole has recorded a hip-hop song for her next album, according to producer Jesse Shatkin.

The Girls Aloud star recently revealed that she is "almost done" with the follow-up to her last album, 2012's 'A Million Lights.

Producer Jesse Shatkin told MuuMuse that he has worked alongside Jon Bellion - who helped write Eminem's 'The Monster' - on a hip-hop track.

He has also teamed up with Cole on a ballad and Shatkin said of the tune:

“It’s strong, it’s powerful and really from the heart. She loved it. She sounds awesome.”

Cole meanwhile will return as a judge on this year's X Factor.

She was a popular fixture on the show for three years between 2008 and 2010 before leaving.
