Cheryl Cole says she has slotted back into the X Factor with ease.

The singer has returned to her judging role on the show after previously starring on the programme for three series between 2008 and 2010.

Auditions are now underway and Cole told the Daily Star that she has adjusted to the X Factor lifestyle extremely well.

She said: "I was a little worried as I didn't know how I was going to feel but it’s like I have never been away.

“Mel B is hilarious. She’s very direct and we have a different approach but that's good for the panel. It’s a bit too early to say but I already think I want the girls again. They seem the strongest."

The other members of the judging panel this year are Mel B, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.

Cole meanwhile will release her new single 'Crazy Stupid Love' on July 20.
