Cheryl Cole, who recently married French model Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in secret, has been wondering whether she really wants to start a family.

Speaking to The Times Magazine, the singer answered when asked about becoming a mother:

"Possibly. Only 'possibly.' Because I went through a real phase, just recently, of like: maybe it's not for me.

"Because you just assume it's a natural part of your life. I've got one friend who doesn't want them; out of all my friends, only one.

"But I know she doesn't want them and I know she'll never have them. She's not maternal. And so I started questioning.

"If it happens, don't get us wrong, it happens. But who knows? We'll see. It's not in my plans.'

Cole is aunty to 11 nieces and nephews, so has lots of young kids around her in her extended family.
