Cheryl Cole on new album: 'I've gone down a pop route'

Songstress Cheryl Cole has revealed that she's really excited about her forthcoming studio album and has gone 'back to the pop route' this time around.

During a new interview with MTV News, the 'Call My Name' beauty explained that the record is diverse and explores different genres although she worked it around a fun pop sound:

"The album is the most versatile album I’ve done so far. There’s a lot of flavours on there."

"I wanted to go back to the pop route and do a lot of pop, there’s a bit of RnB on there, a bit of 90s dance vibes, I mean it’s just fun, you know it’s hopeful, it’s up-lifting. I just want people to enjoy themselves for an hour… I’m not saving lives, I’m making pop music you know."

Cole, meanwhile, recently spoke to Capital FM about her imminent return to 'The X Factor' as a judge and admitted that Simon Cowell is 'still annoying': "He's still annoying, still incredibly annoying, if not more so. I believe he was pinching me physically yesterday, I may have a bruise! He's as annoying for sure, nothing's changed there."
