Cheryl says she doesn't need X Factor to promote her music

Cheryl has insisted that doesn't need the power of the X Factor to boost her music career.

The singer is returning to the UK talent show from Saturday (August 30) and her latest album 'Only Human' will follow in November.

The weighty TV slot will help to promote the record, but Cheryl told the Metro this week that she isn't reliant on the X Factor's clout.

Speaking about recent single 'Crazy Stupid Love', the Brit said:

"I mean, I’ve just had a No.1 without the show. Almost 300,000 copies now I think it’s sold."

Cheryl will appear alongside old comrade Simon Cowell on this year's X Factor, as well as Mel B and Louis Walsh.

It will run until December when this year's winner will be crowned.
