Cheryl in pole position to land record-breaking No.1 single

Cheryl is still on course to bag a record-breaking fifth UK No.1 single.

The Official Charts Company confirmed in their midweek update (November 5) that the Brit's new effort 'I Don't Care' was No.1.

If she stays put come Sunday (November 9), Cheryl will be the British female with the most No.1 singles ever in the country, usurping Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora.

Digital Spy have confirmed today (November 7) that 'I Don't Care' is still No.1.

Last week's chart-topper Ed Sheeran is No.2 on the list with his tune 'Thinking Out Loud'.

The singer-songwriter's record 'x' meanwhile has also overtaken Calvin Harris' new entry 'Motion' on the albums chart to move up to No.1.
