Songstress Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (née Cole) has revealed that she goes out of her way to protect her privacy for the sake of keeping herself sane. 

The star explained that during her relationship with ex-husband Ashley Cole, every detail of their romance became tabloid fodder so she is now fighting to keep her personal life out of the spotlight:

"I have to have something that's for me. I'm aware that everybody wants to know what the eff is going on, but I'm not going to say anything, for my sanity."

Cheryl married her new husband, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, after just three months of dating and confessed there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to love and the length of time you've been with someone before making a commitment doesn't mean anything where longevity is concerned: 

"You hear so many stories, don't you? People who have known each other two weeks and they're together for 75 years, people who have been together six months and they break up. So there's no right or wrong."
