If there’s one thing Cheryl Cole’s learnt it’s that fame comes at a price.

In an interview with Piers Morgan for his ITV1 show, the X Factor judge and Girl’s Aloud star speaks candidly about her failed marriage with football star Ashley Cole, her life-threatening battle with malaria, and admits there are days when she wants to just run away.

She said: “Sometimes I feel completely trapped. But I just can't go back to Newcastle and put on tracksuit bottoms and Ugg boots.”

The X Factor judge might be far away from her hometown but at least she has someone she can count on. 

On Simon Cowell the 27-year-old says: “I have a connection with him like no one else. He is one of the most important people in my life. He just gets me. He’s got a really great heart.”

Cole will release her second album ‘Messy Little Raindrops’ on November 1.
