Cheryl Cole opens up about the creative process, gives details on new album
Songstress Cheryl Cole recently spent time chatting to The Observer and the interview - including the stunning photoshoot - was caught on camera.
She opened up about the creative process of her new album, 'A Million Lights', and revealed details on the songs she chose for the offering as well as insights into the new musical direction she decided to take:
"I'm really excited actually for the new album, I can't wait for it to be out. I'm starting to get impatient now. It's been so long, it's been over a year since I started recording it."
"Some artists have two, three years in between their albums. I just like to make the fresh music and to churn it out. It's just how I've always been - some might say impatient - but I'm always onto the next."
"There comes a point where the previous album feels previous and you're ready to move onto the next thing. I had a different title for it before I decided on 'A Million Lights', but I also have a track called 'A Million Lights' and everything just kind of came together."
When asked about the content of her forthcoming new record, Cole explained that there's one track in particular she is really fond of:
"At the moment I have a track called 'Screw You', which I love. I think it's actually quite a polite way of saying something else! It's a fun song, it's fiesty! It's a step in the right direction."
She was quizzed about who inspired the song, but quickly explained that she "didn't actually write the track" and also gave advice on how to get the perfect photograph, joking, "get a good camera man with good lighting".
