Chris Brown jailed for a month after probation violation

A judge has ordered Chris Brown to stay in jail until at least April after breaking conditions of his parole.

As previously reported, the singer was arrested on Friday (March 14) after violating his parole, which is linked to his 2009 charge of assault after beating up his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

The singer's next probation violation hearing is scheduled for April 23 and Brown has been ordered to stay in jail until then whilst at jury decides if Brown committed assault in an unrelated case.

The US star's latest arrest came after he was dismissed from a rehab centre in Florida, which he is required to visit as part of his probation.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James Brandlin confirmed that Brown broke four rules at the facility, including 'inappropriately touching a female client on the elbow, initially refusing a drug test and making a provocative statement'.

He told a group session at the centre that he is "good at using guns and knives".

Brown was sentenced to five years probation, community labour and domestic violence counselling after assaulting Rihanna in Los Angeles in 2009.
