Chris Brown denies cancelling gig because it was a gay pride event

Chris Brown has strongly denied he pulled out of a concert because it was for a gay pride event.

It has been reported that the singer was booked to perform at the Georgia Freight Depot nightclub in Atlanta on Saturday (September 5).

However, the organiser claims Brown cancelled after learning that the gig was part of the Atlanta Black Gay Pride Weekend.

The R&B man took to Twitter overnight to confirm that this wasn't the case, suggesting that there was no booking in the first place.

Brown said: "I wasn't aware or informed of a show I supposedly cancelled. I have nothing but love and respect for the LGBT COMMUNITY.

"The show was never confirmed by any of my people. So I apologize if the fans wanted me there.

"I honestly wasn't booked for the show. Hopefully in the future we can do it right. Much love LGBT."
