Chris Brown is "praying" for Justin Bieber following a string of bad press surrounding the Canadian superstar.

The R&B singer insists he is able to identify with the 19-year-old, who has been accused of spitting on a neighbour and being a "spoilt brat".

Brown - who has had his fair share of negative headlines - explained that he sympathises with the young star.

Speaking to US radio show Power 105.1′s Breakfast Club, Brown revealed: "It's a case of how I feel. Being young, having a limitless amount of income to do whatever you want. You have nobody who's going to say, 'Hey bro, you look whack right now.' I feel like the mainstream media... they're going to target the little black boys around him and say this is why he's doing it. I'm damn sure glad I'm not around!"

He added: "I pray for him, I pray for myself. I think we're both great artists... he's like a baby Elvis."

will.i.am also recently spoke out on the troubles surrounding Bieber, explaining: "Justin's going to be OK. It's dangerous to be a child star, but it's dangerous to be a child in the ghetto, or to be a child at school being bullied."
