Chris Brown cancels Canada dates over health and personal issues

Chris Brown has axed a series of shows in Canada due to health and personal issues.

The singer recently suffered a seizure due to "extreme emotional stress".

It was attributed to the "continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the nonstop negativity" that surrounded recent hit-and-run charges, which he was cleared of.

In statement, Stephen Tobin of Drop Entertainment Group - who were due to stage Brown at four Energy Rush concerts in Canada - confirmed that they are pulling the singer's shows. He said:

“After ongoing conversation and consultation with this year’s headline act Chris Brown, and in light of the performer’s recent personal and health-related issues, a decision has been made to cancel all four scheduled performances. In the absence of a festival headliner, we cannot proceed.”

Brown's publicist meanwhile commented: "Chris appreciates the support of his many thousands of fans north of the border. He is going to use this time to focus on himself and on the release of his upcoming album. Chris looks forward to performing in Canada very soon."

Despite being cleared of the hit-and-run charges, Brown was recently ordered to complete 1,000 hours of community service in relation to being on probation following his assault of Rihanna in 2009.
