Chris Martin told a contestant on The Voice USA to imagine One Direction star Harry Styles when trying to sing about love.

The Coldplay mainman is currently appearing on the American reality TV show as an adviser.

He appeared on the programme on Tuesday (April 1) and he gave some tips to 16-year-old Deja Hall amongst others.

Coach Shakira told the British musician during Hall's rehearsals of the song 'Say Something' by A Great Big World:

"Deja, she's never been in love, she's always found it difficult to connect emotionally to romantic songs."

Martin then responded: "What about Harry Styles? I mean, me too, by the way."

The Coldplay man is on the show to help contestants prepare for the battle rounds.
