Coldplay concert to feature on TV special

A Coldplay concert is due to feature on a special TV programme about the band.

UK channel Sky Arts will broadcast Coldplay: Ghost Stories on May 19 - the same day as the new album's release.

It will feature a concert held in a custom-built venue in front of just 800 fans, with Paul Dugdale on directing duties.

The band performed all nine songs from their new album 'Ghost Stories', as well as some of their hits.

The programme will air in the UK at 9.30pm and it will be preceded by the interview show Coldplay: Making Ghost Stories at 9pm.

Sky Arts are also set to show older gig footage during the day.

The channel's director Philip Edgar-Jones commented: "Coldplay's sound is iconic and their songs and lyrics are captivating. The band's passion resonates with millions of fans so it's easy to see why Coldplay's music has defined a generation.

"It's a thrill for Sky Arts to be able to give its customers this exclusive first look at the band performing all of the tracks from their new album. As a fan I got a sneak peek at the show and can report that I was utterly captivated."

The Ghost Stories concert will also be broadcast in the US on May 18.
