Coldplay are the latest addition to this year's Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball.

The British group will play the event at London's O2 Arena on December 5.

They join a bill that already features the likes of Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and Little Mix.

Tickets for the two-day event went on sale today (November 6) - and they sold out immediately.

Other acts due to perform over the weekend include Nick Jonas, Nathan Sykes and Ellie Goulding.

Coldplay's confirmation came on the same day they announced their seventh album.

The band will release 'A Head Full of Dreams' on December 4.

The track 'Adventure of a Lifetime' is now available to buy and stream.
