Coldplay have unveiled their new music video for 'Birds'

Coldplay unveiled their video for 'Birds' today (January 2) via their official Twitter account.

The Marcus Haney-directed video was filmed at the Californian landmark Salvation Mountain, a paint-covered hill created by the late artist Leonard Knight.

The track is taken from the band's 'A Head Full of Dreams' album. It follows the release of the debut single, 'Adventure of a Lifetime', the video for which featured apes dancing in a jungle.

The booklet for 'A Headful of Dreams' contains a photograph of the band on top of Knight's art piece, so there is a strong chance the 'Birds' video was filmed during the booklet shoot.

Chris Martin called 'A Headful of Dreams' the band's "hippie album" in a interview with Rolling Stones. This video reflects that with its hazy kaleidescopic desert theme.
