Coldplay's Chris Martin asked Jamie Oliver to teach wife Gwyneth Paltrow to cook

Jamie Oliver has revealed that he was asked by Coldplay's Chris Martin to teach his wife Gwyneth Paltrow how to cook.

The celebrity chef told the Daily Star that he gave the film star some one-on-one advice for a birthday present.

Oliver said: "I know Gwyneth because her husband Chris rang and asked if I'd give her a cookery lesson for her birthday. I'm a big Coldplay fan, and Gwyneth's a lovely woman, so it was a done deal."

He added: "I spent the afternoon cooking in her kitchen, we made a slow-roasted duck ragu. And then a bunch of her friends came around to eat it. About a week later they bought me a really cool top-of-the-range electric drum kit, which I still use. I’m a frustrated drummer."

Paltrow then went on to include the ragu recipe in one of her own cook books, My Father's Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family And Togetherness.
