Brian May reveals Dappy joined his quest to save badgers

Brian May has revealed that he recently enlisted Dappy in his quest to save badgers.

The legendary Queen guitarist has been campaigning to protect the woodland animals for years after the Welsh government declared they intended to carry out trial exterminations as part of an attempt to rid cattle of bovine TB.

And the 64-year-old told The Sun that he managed to drum up some unlikely celebrity support in the shape of the Camden rapper, who he recently collaborated with on UK number two hit ‘Rockstar,’ and ex-Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash.

He said: "When we were working on his new single together, I asked him about the issue to see what he thought.

"His feeling was it was a moral issue and that sacrificing thousands of innocent animals to try and solve this problem is a terrible last resort."

The Environmental Minister, John Griffiths, yesterday announced that the controversial scheme was to be scrapped in favour of a five-year vaccination programme.
