David Bowie's 'Blackstar' looks set to remain No.1 in UK

David Bowie is in pole position to top the UK albums for a second week.

The musician's 25 record 'Blackstar' debuted at No.1 on Friday (January 15), just days after his death from cancer.

The Official Charts Company have confirmed today (January 18) that the album is still No.1 after shifting nearly 50,000 unit so far this week.

A total of ten Bowie albums remain in the UK top 40.

At No.2 on the midweek update is Adele's '25', with Panic at the Disco entering at No.3 with their new effort 'Death of a Bachelor'.

Following at No.4 is Bowie's 'Best of Bowie', while Justin Bieber's 'Purpose' completes the top five.

Jack Savoretti re-enters the top ten with 'Written In Scars' at No.7 and The Temperance Movement are at No.11 with 'White Bear'.

Shawn Mendes' 'Handwritten' meanwhile is up nine places to No.40.

The young musician is currently No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'Stitches'.
