David Bowie set for third week at top of UK albums chart

David Bowie is on course to spend a third week in a row at No.1 in the UK albums chart.

The musician has topped the list with 'Blackstar' ever since it was released on January 8.

With Bowie passing away from cancer aged 69 just days later, the record has been selling well since.

The Official Charts Company confirmed today (January 25) that the album is on course to top the chart this week.

At No.2 on the midweek update is Adele's '25', with Justin Bieber's 'Purpose' at No.3.

Bowie's 'Best of Bowie' falls one place to No.4, while Suede's 'Night Thoughts' debuts at No.5.

Megadeth are a new entry at No.7 with 'Dystopia' - the first time they've reached the UK top ten in 22 years.

Prog hero Steven Wilson meanwhile debuts at No.8 with his new mini-album '4 ½'.

Savages' second album 'Adore Life' is in at No.14 and Lucinda Williams is a fellow new entry at No.27 with 'The Ghosts Of Highway 20'.
