David Bowie was going to star in new Twin Peaks series

An actor in the returning Twin Peaks has revealed that David Bowie was set to appear in the show's upcoming new series.

The singer featured in the cult show's 1992 film sequel Fire Walk With Me as Agent Phillip Jeffries.

Actor Harry Goaz featured in the first two series of Twin Peaks and he is returning for its 2017 comeback.

He told The Dallas News that Bowie was slated to appear in the show before he died in January.

The musician passed away after a secret battle with cancer.

As previously reported, Bowie's last album 'Blackstar' was recently named as the UK's most popular vinyl of the last 12 months.

This was despite the record only going on sale in January.
