David Bowie favourite for 2016 Mercury Music Prize

David Bowie is the clear favourite to win this year's Mercury Music Prize.

The musician's 'Blackstar', released just days before his death in January, is nominated for the award.

Bookmaker William Hill have now placed the record at 4/7 favourite to win the prize.

Spokesman Rupert Adams said: "I don’t think I have ever seen such a one-sided book and certainly not in the Mercury Music Prize."

Second favourite to win is Anohni, while Skepta, Radiohead and Michael Kiwanuka are also in the mix.

This year's Mercury Music Prize ceremony will be held in London on Thursday (September 15).
