A memorial plaque celebrating the late British icon, David Bowie, has been stolen in Berlin.

The tribute was unveiled in the Germany city just three weeks ago by the local mayor. However, newspaper BZ report that police are investigating the theft of the plaque. The publication added that the company which made the memorial have spares in case of theft or damage.

The singer lived in the German city between 1976 and 1978. The Brit, who died in January at the age of 69 after a battle with cancer, created his albums Low and Heroes in Berlin.
