David Bowie given posthumous nomination for BBC Music award

David Bowie has been given a posthumous nomination for the Artist of the Year prize at this year's BBC Music Awards.

The singer will battle it out with Adele, Calvin Harris, Coldplay and Jess Glynne at the ceremony, which is taking place at ExCel London on December 12.

Bowie passed away in January after a secret struggle with cancer. He died just days after releasing his 25th album 'Blackstar'.

A host of big names are set to perform at the BBC Music Awards, including Robbie Williams, John Legend, Kaiser Chiefs, Craig David, Lukas Graham, Zara Larsson and The 1975.
