David Bowie has made a rare appearance in a new advert for Louis Vuitton.

The notoriously reclusive singer has teamed up with the fashion brand for a new commercial that also features his track 'I'd Rather Be High'.

Bowie can be seen performing at a masquerade ball, with model Arizona Muse also featuring in the clip.

The tag-line for the advert reads: "Close your eyes and you are there.... The next chapter of Louis Vuitton's L'Invitation au Voyage has arrived."

The singer and musician meanwhile made an even rarer public appearance recently at he joined in on Tilda Swinton's birthday celebrations.

Bowie and Iman Abdulmajid visited the Museum Of Modern Art in New York on Wednesday (November 6) as the actress's career was honoured.

He was also pictured alongside 17-year-old songstress Lorde, who is currently enjoying worldwide success with the track 'Royals'.
