David Guetta's 'Titanium' passes 1 million downloads in the UK

Dance anthem 'Titanium' has finally passed the 1 million downloads mark in the UK according to the Official Charts Company.

French DJ and producer David Guetta can now boast 2 songs that sold over 1 million copies digitally in the United Kingdom as the Black Eyed Peas hit 'I Gotta Feeling', which he co-wrote and produced, also managed the same impressive feat.

Because he has two million copy-selling singles, Guetta joins the likes of the Spice Girls and The Beatles who also hold the record. Speaking to the Official Charts Company about the achievement, he said: "It’s incredible! It took me a long time to break the UK as an artist; a decade, but to see all the hard work pay off and have the support of the British people makes it all worthwhile. I am so proud of 'Titanium'; it’s the start of a new direction for me and a song that I think will stand the test of time."

He also confessed that Sia's vocals weren't originally meant to stay on the record because she only came on board as a songwriter and they were then supposed to find another singer to appear on it:

"I was a fan of Sia's for many years; 'Breathe Me' is such a beautiful record. She has such a unique style and talent. Her work was critically acclaimed but didn't cross over. When I worked with her it was meant to be as a songwriter. The idea was to put another artist on the record because she didn't want to be in the spotlight any more. What she delivered was just so amazing, I could think of anyone better to perform it."
