Leona Lewis joined by fashion experts in her search to find a new generation of ethical designers

Glamour editor Jo Elvin and fashion designer William Tempest team up with the international multi-selling songstress.

Last week Leona Lewis announced she had teamed up with Talenthouse for an amazing one-off opportunity to offer her fans and the future designers of tomorrow the chance to design an outfit that she will wear at a major upcoming performance.

Today, Leona reveals that will be joined by editor of British Glamour magazine Jo Elvin and fashion designer William Tempest to help her choose the winning design.

Jo Elvin has edited Glamour since its launch in 2001. Within a year of launching Glamour became the UK’s biggest selling glossy monthly, a position the magazine has maintained ever since. Jo has won countless industry awards as well as establishing one of the biggest annual events of the year, the Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

William Tempest is a British fashion designer. After studying womenswear design at The London College of Fashion he went on to work for Giles Deacon in London and Jean Charles de Castelbajac in Paris, before starting up his own label, creating luxurious, modern and contemporary designs which have been worn by the crème de la crème of stylish British women, including Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Emma Watson, Lily Allen and, of course, Leona.

Leona said: “I’m extremely thrilled to be joined by Jo and William. They are two people who are leaders in the field of fashion and that I’ve had the privilege of working with before. They take this competition to a whole new level.”

Talenthouse is the new cutting edge social media platform engaging consumers and providing life-changing opportunities for the creative community. It’s a place where people can participate in projects with major artists and brands. In the last year Talenthouse have worked with names such as Paul McCartney, Queen, Justin Timberlake and many more on a number of creative and unique initiatives which have helped shine a light on the talent of tomorrow.

The winning design will be brought to life by a professional team and Leona will wear the finished result on a major upcoming performance later this year. If this wasn’t enough a professional photo of Leona wearing the outfit will be taken for the winner to use in their portfolio. In addition the winner and two runners up (chosen by Leona as well) will have their work featured across Leona’s website and social media channels as well as receiving cash prizes.

From November 18-23, 2011 fans and participants are able to vote on their favourite submissions and the two highest voted designs will also be featured on Leona’s site and receive cash prizes.

Six years and ten million albums since Leona came to the world’s attention, she’s enjoyed an incredible career to date. In that time Leona has been dressed by some of the world’s biggest names in fashion, Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, Roberto Cavalli to name a few. Leona is a big fan of fashion and as well as designing some of her own outfits in the past, she has been passionate and vocal about one day wanting to launch her own ethical range of clothes and accessories too.

It was reported that in 2008 Leona turned down a massive money deal from Harrods to open their sale on the grounds that they continue to stock unethical clothes. On her 2010 Labyrinth Tour, all the clothes and outfits that were produced met specific animal welfare standards.

In keeping with her ethical views Leona has asked that all designs submitted are animal friendly.
